Munich Re Specialty - North America invites an experienced Public Entity Underwriter to join the Municipality and Transit team. You will underwrite complex accounts, build client relationships and drive growth within our Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) division.

Qualifications

• Experienced underwriter with deep industry knowledge.
• 7+ years of experience in insurance, broker community, underwriting and/or corporate risk market.
• Relationship selling skills.
• Creativity and flexibility.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite in accordance with division guidelines and philosophy.
• Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with contacts at existing and prospective clients and production sources.
• Respond to and find solutions to client business needs with underwriter(s) and management, distinguishing MRSNA's offerings from competitors.
• Assist management in developing new or potential business clients.
• Become proficient in handling larger, more complex accounts.
• Research and communicate to personnel matters relating to Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS).
• Exhibit market awareness and provide input to management on market activities.
• Understand underwriting and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate risk-reward decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of tools and models used in underwriting and compliance with guidelines.
