Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Public Entity Underwriter to join our Municipality and Transit team. You will underwrite complex accounts, build client relationships, and drive growth within PERS. The salary range reflects market variations across locations and includes a full benefits package.

The base salary range is $138,400 - $230,700, with a potential company bonus and a comprehensive benefits program including health insurance, 401k, PTO, and retirement savings.

Qualifications

• Experienced underwriter with deep industry knowledge.
• 7+ years of experience in insurance, broker community, underwriting and/ or corporate risk market.
• Relationship selling skills.
• Creativity and flexibility.
• Effective Time Management and organizational skills.
• Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite in accordance with division guidelines and philosophy.
• Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with client and production contacts.
• Respond to client needs with underwriter and management, differentiating MRSNA’s products.
• Assist management in developing new or potential business clients.
• Become proficient in handling larger, more complex accounts.
• Research and communicate on Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) issues.
• Provide input to management on market activities and maintain market awareness.
• Understand underwriting and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate risk-reward decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of all underwriting tools and models.
• Maintain compliance with Corporate and Divisional guidelines.
• Be a team player in support of PERS and MRSNA objectives.
