Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Public Entity Underwriter to join our Municipality and Transit team. You will underwrite complex accounts, build strong client relationships, and drive growth within the Public Entity Risk Solutions division.

The role requires deep underwriting knowledge, 7+ years in insurance, and a proven ability to manage multiple, large accounts across locations including NYC. We offer competitive base pay, comprehensive benefits, and a company bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in insurance, underwriting or corporate risk market.
• Strong relationship selling skills.
• Creativity and flexibility with time management.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite in accordance with division guidelines and philosophy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client contacts and producers.
• Respond to and address client business needs with underwriter(s) and management.
• Assist management in developing new or potential business.
• Handle larger, more complex accounts.
• Research and communicate PERS issues to personnel.
• Provide input on market activities to management.
• Understand underwriting and pricing guidelines to ensure risk-reward decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of tools and models used in underwriting processes.
• Maintain compliance with corporate and divisional guidelines.
• Be a team player in support of PERS and MRSNA objectives.
