Munich Re Specialty - North America seeks a Public Entity Underwriter to join our Municipality and Transit team. You will underwrite complex accounts, build client relationships, and drive growth within our Public Entity Risk Solutions division.

The role requires 7+ years in insurance/underwriting, strong communication, and the ability to work across multiple locations. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in insurance, broker community, underwriting and/ or corporate risk market.
• Relationship selling skills.
• Creativity and flexibility.
• Effective Time Management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite in accordance with division guidelines and philosophy.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with contacts at existing and prospective client and production sources.
• Respond to and find solutions to client business needs with underwriter(s) and management distinguishing MRSNA’s business and products from competitors.
• Assist management in the development of new or potential business clients.
• Become proficient in handling larger, more complex accounts.
• Research and communicate to personnel matters relating to Public Entity Risk Solutions (PERS) issues.
• Exhibit market awareness and provide input to management on market activities.
• Understand underwriting and pricing guidelines to ensure appropriate risk-reward decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of tools and models used in underwriting.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Be a team player in support of all PERS and MRSNA objectives.
