Job summary

The NYC Department of Social Services uses its Public Engagement Unit to connect New Yorkers with essential City services. The Outreach Lead role drives proactive strategies in partnership with city agencies, community groups, and elected officials to reach communities in need.

You will supervise a team of specialists, design outreach events across all five boroughs, and ensure rigorous reporting and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and two years of community work experience or related duties.
• High school graduation plus six years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 2 - 8 specialists, create team agendas and hold periodic review meetings.
• Maintain ongoing reporting and communication with the TSU Outreach Manager.
• Evaluate programmatic needs and provide feedback on new processes; train the team when standards evolve.
• Build and maintain relationships with pre-existing key stakeholders and initiate new relationships for programmatic needs.
• Analyze data to inform resource allocation decisions.
• Navigate and accurately maintain electronic information in a collaborative database.
• Perform quality control measures through field checks, calls and Data Director guidelines.
• Create outreach plans for assigned borough.
• Organize outreach events with community groups, elected officials and city agencies.
