Job summary

Avalo Therapeutics, a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on IL-1β pathway therapies, is seeking a Senior SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting professional. This role leads the day-to-day SEC reporting, coordinates with Finance, Legal, HR and outside advisors to ensure accurate filings, and supports internal controls and policy development.

In a fast-paced public company environment, the ideal candidate has CPA, 5–7+ years of experience, and strong U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification required.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public company SEC reporting experience with 10-Q/10-K.
• Biotechnology or life sciences industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Experience with Workiva (Wdesk) preferred.
• Equity/stock-based compensation accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and coordination of SEC filings and related disclosures.
• Coordinate cross-functional input from Finance, Legal, HR, Leadership, and external advisers.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for tax provision and related SEC reporting.
• Prepare quarterly technical accounting analyses and memoranda for complex items.
• Lead accounting for stock-based compensation and equity-related transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close and journal entries.
• Collaborate with GL team to prepare month-end close deck and analyze trends.
