Job summary

The City of Buda is seeking a Communications Specialist to manage public information, community engagement, and destination promotion. You will craft content across social media and the City website, design visuals, and monitor analytics to inform outreach.

You will support the Public Information Officer during emergencies, coordinate with departments, and help ensure consistent messaging across channels, including evenings and weekends for events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, graphic design, marketing, or a related field.
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in communications, social media management, graphic design, marketing, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain social media plans and content calendars.
• Create, edit, schedule, and publish content across social platforms.
• Monitor social channels and respond to questions or concerns.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
• Produce graphics, infographics, photography, and video for channels.
• Prepare or assist with press releases, newsletters, and reports.
• Monitor analytics and prepare KPI reports.
• Assist with emergency communications and incident messaging.
