Job summary

BCforward is seeking a senior Infrastructure Developer with strong Systems Engineering and Software Development expertise to join our team in Jersey City. The role focuses on distributed operating systems, large‑scale software, automation, security, and modern compute platforms, with opportunities to design, build, and operate enterprise infrastructure and tooling.

You will collaborate in Agile teams, implement end‑to‑end automation, and contribute to monitoring, resiliency, and performance

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Systems Engineering and Software Development.
• Experience with distributed OS internals and systems programming or network programming.
• Proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, C#, or .NET.
• Focus on enterprise scale, resiliency, and performance.
• Security experience including SSO, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud compute technologies.
• Hands-on Agile development and automated testing practices.
• Experience across large, distributed infrastructure and data centers.
• End-to-end systems automation and orchestration experience.
• Monitoring and instrumentation for systems and applications.

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure services, tooling, and automation for large-scale environments.
• Engineer reliable, scalable, and secure systems across multiple data centers and cloud or virtualized platforms.
• Implement end-to-end systems automation and orchestration to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Develop and enhance system and application monitoring, metrics, and instrumentation.
• Contribute to secure design and implementation, including SSO, Kerberos, LDAP, and Windows AD integrations.
• Collaborate in Agile teams and promote automated testing and CI practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Significant experience in Systems Engineering and Software Development.
• Proficiency in at least one infrastructure discipline: distributed OS internals (Unix/Linux, Windows, or Z/OS), systems programming, or network programming.
• Large-scale software development in one or more languages: C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, C#, or .NET.
• Demonstrated focus on enterprise scale, resiliency, and performance.
• System and software security expertise, including entitlements and directory services (SSO, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD).
• Experience with modern compute technologies such as virtualization and cloud.
• Hands-on Agile development and automated testing practices.
• Experience working across large, distributed infrastructure and multiple data centers.
• End-to-end systems automation and orchestration experience.
• Background in systems and application monitoring and instrumentation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience engineering multi-OS environments spanning Unix/Linux, Windows, and mainframe platforms.
• Exposure to cloud-native services and infrastructure as code tooling.
