Job summary

BCforward is seeking an Oracle DBA / Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our team in Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC, on a 11-month contract. The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code for Oracle databases using Terraform and Ansible to deploy at scale on DBaaS Exadata platforms.

The candidate will design and build Terraform modules, deploy via Ansible, and ensure compliance with bank standards. Hybrid onsite requirement trains the candidate for 3 days per week on-site.

Qualifications

Job Description

We are seeking an Oracle DBA / Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Infrastructure as Code for Oracle databases using Terraform and Ansible and a proven ability to design, build, and validate compliant modules that meet bank standards and deploy at scale on DBaaS Exadata platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Terraform modules for Oracle databases that meet bank standards, including IAM, backup, patching, MRF, data protection (DAR/DIT), cryptography, vaulting, and baseline compliance.
• Build Infrastructure as Code using Ansible playbooks and shell scripts to deploy Oracle Database on DBaaS Exadata platforms.
• Test modules in an engineering lab environment, identify defects, and collaborate with the team to resolve issues.
• Design end-to-end solutions for Oracle products via Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise with Terraform and Ansible for database infrastructure automation.
• Experience implementing IAM, backup, patching, encryption, vaulting, and compliance controls through code.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and processes such as Jenkins, Horizon, XLR, CodePipeline, and GitHub/Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of RDBMS platforms including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, with SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for automation and tooling.
• 7+ years of experience with Terraform and Ansible in production environments.

Preferred Skills

• 7+ years of CI/CD experience with tools such as Horizon, Jenkins, and XLR.
• Experience with Ansible Tower, Git workflows, and code quality practices.
