Job summary

DCAS is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support Facilities Management & Construction across City-owned buildings. The role involves routine maintenance, minor repairs, and inspections to ensure safe, energy-efficient spaces for City tenants.

Under supervision, you will assist in daily operations and travel to work sites as needed. Minimum qualifications include 3 years of full-time experience in electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance trades; or 2 years plus related trade school

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a mechanic, journeyperson or helper in the electrical trades, the mechanical trades, or the construction or maintenance of buildings.
• Two years of full-time experience plus training/education in electrical, mechanical or construction trades to equal three years of acceptable experience; six months credit per year of training.
• 55a Program eligibility and disclosure noted in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, adjusts and makes minor repairs of building hardware, furniture, shelving and equipment.
• Replaces broken window and door glass; repairs windows and sashes.
• Performs minor repairs to masonry, woodwork, flooring and walls.
• Maintains building electrical, plumbing and heating systems; assists in relocating equipment.
• Inspects and records conditions; prepares reports; operates a motor vehicle to travel to sites.
