Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience.
• College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 class room hours for each year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Determines eligibility for expedited food assistance services.
• Explains eligibility to applicants and recipients applying/receiving public assistance.
• Enters client data into database based on intake of caller information.
• Maintains necessary files and records.
• Completes general clerical duties including using computer to input data of clients who are applying for public assistance benefits.
• Answers phones.
• Uses photocopy machine, scanner and other office equipment.
• Conducts application registration.
• Schedules appointments.
• Performs intake interviews.
• Conducts statewide clearance and reconciles any discrepancies on all household members.
• Maintain office email accounts and serves as clerical backup for units.
