Job summary

Solano County's Employment and Eligibility Services Division of the Health and Social Services Department is recruiting an Eligibility Benefits Specialist II. The role applies regulations to determine eligibility for CalFresh, Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, and Welfare-to-Work and manages related case records.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of public assistance programs, interview applicants both in person and virtually, and use CalSAWS to issue accurate benefit determinations with professionalism

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public assistance programs and how to apply regulations.
• Ability to conduct in-person and virtual interviews.
• Experience interpreting complex welfare regulations.
• Proficiency with the CalSAWS system for eligibility determinations.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for CalFresh, Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, and Welfare-to-Work.
• Maintain accurate and organized case records and manage caseloads.
• GATHER and evaluate sensitive financial and personal information.
• Provide clear, respectful guidance to applicants and issue benefits timely.
