Job summary

The Alamance County Veteran Service Office is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker in Health & Human Services, NC. You’ll conduct interviews to determine eligibility for vital assistance programs and maintain detailed case records to support food and medical benefits.

All DSS positions may be reallocated and staff may work during emergencies. You’ll help clients access resources, manage a caseload, and follow policy guidelines while delivering compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in paraprofessional, clerical, or public contact work with interviews and data analysis.
• High school diploma plus two years in related roles, with at least one year in income maintenance.
• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews to determine eligibility for assistance programs.
• Verify and document information to ensure accurate service delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date case records for benefits like food and medical assistance.
• Guide clients to community resources and support during vulnerable moments.
• Manage an active caseload while following policies to maximize support.
