Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in California seeks an Enrollment Counselor to assist patients with securing public funding for healthcare costs, working with physicians, social workers, and case managers on discharge planning.

You will educate patients on options, complete applications for Medi-Cal, CMS programs, COBRA, and related resources, conduct face-to-face interviews within 24 hours of admission, and perform field visits to expedite enrollment while maintaining PHI safeguards.

Qualifications

• Driver's License - CA required.
• HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 3 years experience in a health care system revenue cycle desired.
• Notary Public certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide client services and assist patients requesting financial assistance.
• Complete applications and supporting documents for programs (Medi-Cal, Medicaid, CMS, CMSP, SSI-Disability, COBRA, and Health Care Exchange plans).
• Identify unfunded admissions and perform interviews and applications within 24 hours of admission.
• Coordinate with hospital Social Work & Case Management to ensure smooth discharge planning.
