Job summary

The Seabird Ocean Resort and Spa in sunny Southern California is seeking a Public Area Attendant to support our housekeeping team in a fast-paced, guest-facing role. You will help maintain clean public spaces, including lobbies, bathrooms, stairwells, and more, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

The role requires walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and comfortable use of cleaning chemicals. Base hourly rate is $21.26/hr, with benefits and growth opportunities offered by Hyatt.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
• Fast-paced environment experience.
• Excellent English communication (verbal, written, electronic).
• Ability to read, understand, and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash and dispose properly.

We are looking individuals who can provide authentic and memorable experiences that deliver the Southern California Dream to our guests. We are looking for a full time Public Area Attendant to support out housekeeping team.

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel in the public areas. This includes, but is not limited to: Bathrooms, Lobbies, Stairwells, Elevators, Hallways, Exterior Windows, Exterior Sidewalks, Fitness Centers, etc. This person must have exceptional communication skills as well as superior guest service abilities. This position is fast paced with constant customer interaction. This role also requires a considerable amount of walking, the ability to lift, push and carry a moderate amount of weight and exposure to cleaning chemicals.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.26/hr

Responsibilities

• Removing trash and disposing in dumpsters


• Breaking down boxes and disposing in appropriate area


• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping


• Cleaning Mirrors, counters, walls, knobs, railings, etc


• Dusting


• Removing, transporting, replacing soiled linen


• Cleaning up spills


• Cleaning all areas of bathroom: toilet, floors, bins, etc and restocking items as needed.


• Restocking items: toilet paper, tissue paper, etc.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience is referred for this position


• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment


• Must have exceptional communication skills in English including verbal, written and electronic


• Must be able to read, understand, interpret and carry out directions and instructions.


• Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds


• Work independently and make sound, responsible decisions


• May be working alone or as a team as needed.


• Must be able to walk and stand at least 95% of the shift.


• Must be able to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, and carry.


• Must be able to use hands to grasp, hold and use for manual activities.


• Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and agents.


• Must be able to visually access their areas and confirm they are clean.


• Must be able to follow the company Uniform & Style Grooming standards.
