Overview

The Public Area Attendant maintains Highgate Hotel Standards in all public spaces including lobby, business center, fitness center, restaurants, restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, elevators, pool areas, parking garages, driveways, and any other public areas. May perform Room Attendant and House Attendant duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and colleagues.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette.
• Practice safe work habits.
• Handle Lost and Found items per hotel standards.
• Return keys and assignment sheets at shift end.
• Report maintenance issues.
• Assist with guestroom cleaning procedures if needed.
• Deliver clean linen to assigned areas.
• Collect dirty linen or trash as needed.
• Dispose of trash from service landings properly.
• Vacuum guest corridors.
• Keep hallways, public areas, and closets tidy.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms.
• Follow cleaning schedules for public areas.
• Maintain stairwells to hotel standards.
• Keep ash urns clean and filled.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Housekeeping experience highly preferred.
• Flexible with long hours required.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns.
• Multitasking and prioritization skills.
• Approach all interactions with friendliness and professionalism.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain high personal appearance standards and grooming.
• Follow hotel standards and regulations for safety and efficiency.
