The National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC seeks a Public Affairs Specialist to manage media relations and communications for the museum. You will serve as the principal media contact and help shape strategic outreach to diverse audiences and partners.
Responsibilities include creating integrated PR plans, growing press contacts, and expanding the museum’s reach and influence across communities and events. This role is based at the museum in DC and focuses on public programming and engagement.

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or private sector, serving as a principal media contact for press and communications office in an art museum; implementing integrated PR and communications plans; growing a portfolio of press contacts; engaging key stakeholders around events AND targeting new audiences by growing the reach/influence of an arts or cultural institution.
