Job summary

The National Gallery of Art is seeking a Museum Specialist/Technician to provide administrative and operational support for exhibition planning, collections management, cataloguing, and related research in a world-class museum setting.

The position requires at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent, and may require graduate-level education or a Master’s degree in art history, museum studies, or related fields.

Specialized Experience Statement

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service or private sector performing administrative/operational support for exhibition planning, collections management, cataloguing, or research for an art museum/culture organization.

OR

2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master’s or equivalent graduate degree in a related fields of study including art, history, museum studies, scientific subjects, or other courses related to the position to be filled.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
