Job summary

Google is seeking a Public Affairs Manager for Regional Data Centers in Austin, TX. You will lead public affairs strategies, build relationships with government and community leaders, and align local initiatives with Google's data center growth.

The role requires deep policy experience and ability to travel across states. As part of the Strategic Negotiation and Public Affairs teams, you will influence initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional partners, and advocate for Google’s priorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
• Experience working with public policy teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with technical infrastructure developments.
• Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and key opinion formers to secure a positive, sustainable, and collaborative operating environment for our facilities.
• Develop, lead, and execute complex, multi-state public affairs strategies and campaigns that proactively safeguard the data center life cycle across both existing and future markets.
• Serve as a key ambassador and advocate for Google’s priorities, amplifying our economic, energy, sustainability, and social contributions to position our presence as a local team for growth and innovation.
• Partner closely with a broad range of internal teams and external stakeholders to drive data center market development projects seamlessly from concept to completion.
• Translate corporate and technical initiatives into tangible, highly visible local benefits that align with and support community priorities.
