Job summary

University of Kansas seeks qualified scholars and professionals for part- to full-time instructor positions in the School of Public Affairs & Administration. The role involves developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in public administration, nonprofit management, urban planning, and related topics.

Instructors will primarily handle 100% instructional duties with courses delivered face-to-face, hybrid, or online.

Qualifications

• MA in discipline or BA with 5 years of relevant work experience.
• PhD in relevant field OR Master’s and 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Record of research, scholarship or achievement in discipline.

Responsibilities

• Teach a specified number of courses per semester (undergrad or grad).
• Design course content and syllabus per departmental guidance and KU standards.
• Prepare for and attend all class meetings; provide timely feedback.
• Provide instruction for course(s); align online courses with face-to-face standards.
• Develop and administer assignments and tests; evaluate student work and grades.
• Be available for students; schedule office hours with timely responses to inquiries.
• Adhere to departmental, college, and university policies.
