Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Typically five to seven years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of four years’ relevant experience required.
• Experience establishing and maintaining community relations to enhance company image.
• Knowledge of distribution operations.
• Experience with application of math and statistics.
• Experience with office equipment and applicable software.
• Public speaking/interpersonal communication skills.
• Organizational structure and system operations.
• Communicating through print/electronic media.
• Industry trends and media relations training.
• Experience researching franchise agreements, local community issues, regulations, proposals, financial statements, rate tariffs, and policies.
• Experience preparing reports, proposals, profiles, budgets, speeches, multimedia presentations, responses to media sources, and correspondence.
• Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
• Experience developing information, conducting meetings, presenting, and conducting media interviews.
• Fluent reading/writing in English.
• Mobility to travel to various work sites.
• Ability to convey information and give oral presentations.
• Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains positive company image through strong business relations with government officials and key local community and business leaders and works to ensure beneficial local policies.
• Build and maintain strong relations with local and state government officials, business and community leaders, community organizations, local media, public works department, operations, and key customers to enhance company image.
• Assist in franchise and rate case negotiations with local officials. Ensure agreement complies with policy and notification requirements; coordinate with local field operations.
• Assist with negotiations and communications with cities or other entities on regulatory actions to increase rates; work with rates, legal and community relations to develop strategy.
• Support corporate communications locally as company spokesperson for field operations through relations with local media.
• Support financial growth through interaction with community organizations including Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development groups.
• Promote corporate citizenship through participation in community programs.
• Present programs to local field operations personnel to inform employees of campaigns and news items.
• Respond to field incidents and provide announcements and necessary communications with media, public officials and emergency personnel.
• Monitor City Council and other local government bodies for policies that may impact the company.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
• Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
