Job summary

St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ seeks a Public Affairs Specialist to shape our voice across social media, news, events, partnerships, and official communications. You’ll translate animal stories into engaging content and collaborate with leaders to advance our community impact.

You’ll partner with the Marketing team, engage reporters, coordinate events, and prepare spokespeople for interviews, blending content creation with public engagement in a dynamic nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing partnerships, sponsorships, or external engagement initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting media and external materials.
• Experience coordinating events or managing multi-stakeholder projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for routine media inquiries.
• Draft press releases, media advisories, statements, and background materials.
• Coordinate interviews and prepare briefing materials for organizational spokespeople.
• Monitor media coverage and maintain tracking reports.
• During Director absence, manage day-to-day media coordination with escalation protocols.
