Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a security professional to perform routine safety and emergency security duties across the facility. You will act as the first responder to emergencies, safeguard patients and staff, and de-escalate potentially escalating situations with sound judgment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of security/public safety experience, and completion of required licenses and trainings including firearms, Taser, and baton certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in security/public safety.
• Ability to carry firearms as part of regular duty.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must complete and maintain firearms, Taser, baton, and related safety trainings.

First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
