Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital seeks a dedicated security professional to perform routine safety and emergency security tasks, protecting staff, patients, visitors, and property while acting as a first responder to incidents and de-escalating volatile situations.

The requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years in security or public safety, ability to carry firearms, and completion of required trainings such as firearms, Taser, baton, and Mental Health First Aid.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility and de-escalation of critical events with sound judgment.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
