PTEC Front Office ReceptionistPower Technical (PTEC) – James Irwin Charter SchoolsColorado Springs, COPay: $16.00 per hourSchedule: Full-Time, 191 working days per school yearWork Location: In personPosition OverviewPower Technical (PTEC), part of James Irwin Charter Schools, is seeking a friendly, organized, dependable, and professional Front Office Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors.The Front Office Receptionist is responsible for the daily operation of the school’s front office and provides clerical and administrative support to students, families, staff, and school administration. This position requires someone who can manage multiple priorities, communicate professionally, maintain confidentiality, and remain calm and helpful in a busy secondary school environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFront Office & Student SupportOpen and prepare the front office by 7:00 a.m. each school day.Greet and assist students, parents, staff, visitors, and community members in a friendly and professional manner.Answer incoming telephone calls and route calls or messages appropriately.Answer general questions from parents and students and direct more complex matters to the appropriate staff member.Locate students and communicate messages or information as needed.Prepare student passes and provide notifications to teachers as necessary.Assist parents with Infinite Campus access and general questions.Assist with student check-in/check-out and related documentation.Coordinate student shadow dates and communicate information to students, families, and staff.Call out and sign out students leaving campus for school-related activities.Provide basic assistance to students who become ill during the school day and contact parents or appropriate staff when necessary.After completing required training, provide limited support with authorized student medications as needed.Support the JICS school nurse with obtaining student immunization and health records when requested.Fees, Records & Administrative SupportCollect student fees and other payments, issue receipts, and accurately update student fee information in Infinite Campus.Maintain accurate front-office records and documentation.Prepare, copy, organize, file, and distribute documents and materials.Maintain confidentiality of student, family, financial, and school information.Operate standard office equipment and technology.Provide clerical and administrative assistance to PTEC administration and staff.Assist with school events, activities, communications, and special projects as assigned.Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming front-office environment.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesPleasant and professional telephone manner.Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.Excellent organizational skills and ability to comfortably manage multiple tasks and interruptions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proactive self-starter who can quickly learn new duties and procedures.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, volunteers, and visitors.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability and willingness to learn Infinite Campus and other school information systems.Ability to operate standard office equipment.Ability to accurately handle money, receipts, student fees, and related records.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.At least one year of office, administrative, clerical, or comparable customer-service experience.Previous experience working in a school environment or with middle/high school students is preferred.The Successful CandidateThe successful candidate will be welcoming, organized, dependable, proactive, and professional.
