Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is hiring a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Queensbury, NY. The PTA will follow the care plan created by the supervising physical therapist and assist residents with exercises and mobility to improve function.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates with fieldwork encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, assist residents in performing exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
