Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with active license
• BLS certification within 30 days or as required by employer
• Board eligibility or board exam completion as applicable • continuing education for acute stroke care

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant teaching methods
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment after communicating with the evaluating therapist
• Produces documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy
• Completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements if applicable
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicates progress to referring providers
