Job summary

Kadima Health and Nursing at Palmyra is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The PTA will implement treatment plans, perform therapeutic exercises, gait and balance activities, and assist residents with devices under the supervision of a PT.

Candidates must hold an active PTA license, have BLS/CPR certification, and experience in skilled nursing. The role requires physical stamina and a commitment to compassionate resident care and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Active state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Current BLS or CPR certification.
• Experience in a skilled nursing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities as outlined in the PT’s plan of care.
• Administer physical agents such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. Assist and train residents in using devices like walkers, canes, and prosthetics.
• Observe residents before, during, and after therapy; report status changes or adverse reactions to the supervising PT.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and billing records, in compliance with federal and state regulations (CMS standards).
• Instruct residents, families, and facility staff on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and discharge plans.
• Maintain established productivity levels and efficiency standards set by the administration.
