Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Outpatient Rehab team in Albuquerque. You will assist the Physical Therapist in delivering interventions to improve mobility, independence in activities of daily living, and self-management of care for patients and caregivers.

Emphasis on patient advocacy and high quality, compassionate treatment to enhance life quality.

Qualifications

• AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED. PHS is a drug‑free and tobacco‑free employer with smoke‑free campuses.
• Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.

Responsabilités

• Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA delivers therapeutic interventions to support patients in overcoming physical or developmental challenges.
• Focuses on improving safety in the home, reducing hospitalizations, and educating patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatments, resources, and equipment.
• Treats patients in routine visits using a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for improvement of physical or developmental dysfunction and ADL independence.
• Coordinates discharge goals with the Physical Therapist or team.
• Educates on home programs and preventive measures for patient/family.

Formation

Associate Degree in Physical Therapy

Certificate Physical Therapy Assistant

BLS required at time of hire
