Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Outpatient Rehab team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The PTA will assist the Physical Therapist in delivering interventions to improve mobility and daily living activities, while promoting self-management and caregiver education.

The role includes coordination toward discharge goals, safety education, and documentation. Sign-on and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Certificate as Physical Therapy Assistant preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, deliver therapeutic interventions to support functional mobility.
• Improve patient safety at home and reduce hospitalizations.
• Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatments and home programs.
• Document care delivery and maintain accurate records per policy.
• Participate in team conferences and quality improvement activities.
