Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient therapy team in the Brandon area. You will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from orthopaedic injuries and surgeries, delivering focused, evidence-based care.

The role emphasizes individualized treatment plans, documentation, and collaboration with clinicians to achieve functional goals in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Active Florida PTA license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and motivated to help people achieve rehab goals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized patient treatments as outlined in the Physical Therapist’s plan of care.
• Documenting each visit with treatment notes, progress updates, and patient assessments.
• Instructing patients in exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and safe use of assistive devices.
• Guiding patients through gait training and mobility exercises.
• Communicating patient status changes promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Serving as a clinical instructor and mentor for PTA students.
• Supporting the therapy team and clinic operations as needed.
