Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a licensed New York PTA to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting. This full-time role focuses on implementing plans of care, assessing resident function, and assisting with therapeutic activities to promote independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates with fieldwork encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance
• Observe and document resident performance
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises
• Maintain resident confidentiality
• Comply with federal, state, and local laws and professional requirements
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team
