Qualifications

• Associate's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in state(s) of practice.
• Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct resident screenings to determine need for intervention or treatment.
• Assist in evaluations under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Contribute to treatment planning with short-term and long-term goals.
• Carry out individual and group treatments focusing on strength, mobility, balance, gait, ROM and modalities.
• Assist in selecting techniques/media and adapt as needed in consultation with the PT.
• Monitor resident responses and modify as indicated with PT input.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating resident therapy with the team.
• Document compliant and medically necessary therapy notes in CMS/NetHealth as required.
