Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering patient care. The incumbent will perform delegated PT procedures, modify treatment within the plan as patient status changes, and document progress.

You will supervise the PT aide, address age-specific needs, ensure patient comfort, and report safety issues. Requirements: Associate's degree, current PTA license, and BLS certification; entry-level candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy.
• Perform delegated PT procedures and adjust treatment within the plan as patient status changes.
• Document patient progress notes and ensure accurate records.
• Provide technical direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload.
• Address age-specific needs and treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Assess and treat pain as per department policy and report patient safety issues.
