Job summary

BJC Home Care is seeking a licensed PTA to join our home care therapy team in the St. Louis area. You will work under a licensed physical therapist to provide skilled treatments in patients' homes, following prescribed plans and ensuring progress is documented.

The role offers a Monday through Friday schedule (8 am to 4:30 pm) with no on-call coverage, weekends, or holidays. Benefit eligible with comprehensive total rewards.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting
• PTA license required
• Valid Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the licensed PT on frequency to assess care plans and interventions.
• Documents patient progress in daily and weekly notes, and contributes to discharge notes.
• Guides clinical fieldwork students under supervision of the PT.
• Reports on interventions and progress during meetings and contributes to evaluation and discharge planning.

Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

The Metro St. Louis Intermittent Home Care Department of BJC Home Care Services provides home visits to patients in the metropolitan St. Louis area and several nearby counties, with 24 hour on-call home care nursing supervision. Role Purpose

Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
• Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
• Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
• Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
