Job summary

Christian Hospital and Northwest HealthCare in St. Louis, MO is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join a multidisciplinary team across ICU, step-down units, orthopedics, and neuro, and more. The role offers exposure to a wide range of patients and states with a supportive team and opportunities for growth.

Work schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with one Saturday per month. The PTA will work under licensed PT supervision to deliver quality care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and PTA certification required.
• Licensed PTA in Missouri.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans as prescribed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist to assess and adjust the care plan.
• Documents patient progress in daily/weekly notes and discharge summaries as applicable.
• Supervises/assists clinical fieldwork students under the physical therapist.
• Communicates patient progress during meetings and contributes to evaluation and discharge planning.

The Speech Pathology Department at Christian Hospital is located on the second floor of CH . Services are provided to adults with deficits in speech, language, voice, dysphagia and cognition.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
• Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
• Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
• Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
