Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. The PTA will work under a licensed PT to implement treatment plans, assist with mobility, and monitor patient progress in daily 8-hour shifts.

The role emphasizes patient education, proper use of mobility aids, and collaboration with the supervising PT. Eligible candidates hold an A.A. degree, an active PTA license in Georgia, BCLS certification, and healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• A.A. Degree.
• Current state Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) Certificate upon hire.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Treatment Plans: carry out specific physical therapy interventions designed by the Physical Therapist (PT).
• Assist with Patient Mobility: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, use assistive devices, and perform exercises safely.
• Monitor Patient Responses: observe and report patient progress, pain levels, or adverse reactions during therapy sessions to the supervising PT.
• Educate Patients: teach patients proper movement techniques, safety precautions, and how to use walkers, crutches, or other mobility aids.
• Prepare Equipment: set up and clean therapy areas, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
