Job summary

The position requires an Associate's Degree and PTA licensure (IDFPR/Illinois), BLS within 30 days, and board eligibility with completion of the next exam.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board eligible / must complete board exam when date is available; continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows a therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment with communication and documentation.
• Document daily notes per policy and participate in occasional audits and program requirements.
• Provide aquatic therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training; electrical stimulation as indicated.
• Coordinate with PT on patient treatment interventions and communicate progress to referring providers.
