Job summary

Majestic Care of Sheridan is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support high-quality rehabilitative care under a licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement individualized plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function in residents with geriatric needs.

Responsibilities include clinical treatment delivery, gait training, and documentation, while collaborating with the care team to ensure resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• 1–2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with PDPM and SNF therapy documentation standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities to improve strength, balance, and independence.
• Monitor resident responses during treatment sessions and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Support resident and family education under the direction of the Physical Therapist to promote safe and effective carryover of therapy strategies.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that encourages resident participation and comfort.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
