Job summary

Post Rehabilitation Services is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the rehabilitation team at Civita Care Center at Newington in Newington, CT. The role involves working closely with licensed Physical Therapists to provide hands-on treatment that helps residents build strength, improve movement, and achieve rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• PTA license in Connecticut required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative care team.
• New graduate PTAs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, transfers, and functional mobility.
• Carry out established treatment plans based on individual resident needs and goals.
• Observe resident response to therapy and communicate progress to the supervising PT.
• Reinforce exercises and safe mobility techniques with residents and caregivers.
• Maintain clear and timely clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with therapy, nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
