Job summary

New London Rehab & Care of Waterford in Waterford, CT is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time position within our rehabilitation department. You will work closely with residents to help achieve mobility and rehabilitation goals in a supportive skilled nursing environment.

The role delivers therapy under PT supervision, supports customized treatment plans, documents progress, and collaborates with nursing and other professionals to ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled nursing experience preferred but not required.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy treatments under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility interventions.
• Support individualized treatment plans designed to improve strength, safety, and functional independence.
• Monitor resident performance and communicate progress to the supervising PT.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to support quality resident care.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
