Job summary

Westgate Gardens Care Center in Visalia, CA is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a part-time basis. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide skilled treatment to help residents regain mobility, balance, strength, and independence.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree, CA PTA license, CPR, and prior skilled nursing or post-acute rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current California PTA license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification as required by policy/licensure.
• Experience in skilled nursing or post‑acute rehab preferred.
• Ability to read and understand treatment plans and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide PTA treatment per plan of care under supervision.
• Perform therapeutic exercise, gait, balance, and transfer training.
• Document treatment timely and accurately.
• Communicate progress and concerns to supervising PT.
• Educate residents and families on goals and home exercise.
• Maintain safety and infection-control procedures.
