Job summary

Visalia Post Acute in Visalia, CA is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team. This full-time healthcare role involves working closely with residents and an interdisciplinary team to improve mobility, independence, and quality of life.

The PTA assists therapists, documents care accurately, follows physician orders and regulatory guidelines, and helps educate residents and families on exercises and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Net Health and PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist with resident mobility, transfers, and equipment needs.
• Communicate progress with the supervising PT and interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents and families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
• Remain compliant with California laws and regulations related to physical therapy.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
