Job summary

South University seeks an Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) to develop and maintain clinical externship sites for the PTA program. The ACCE designs and evaluates clinical coursework, manages externships, and supervises students at affiliated centers.

This role supports the Program Director with program administration and governance duties, and enhances the learning environment. The position offers a $10,000 signing bonus and requires leadership in curriculum development, student

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a field related to the courses to be taught; DPT preferred.
• Current licensure as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.
• Minimum of two years as CCCE/CI or teaching/admin in PTA program.
• Experience teaching in post-secondary or college institution.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and coordinates all student externships through clinical sites and serves as liaison between the PTA program and centers.
• Assists Program Director with PTA program administration including student files and advisement.
• Participates in governance and planning of the program and university.
• Promotes student success through flexible teaching styles and schedule; engages students.
• Contributes to campus culture through involvement in curriculum tasks and events.
• Relates professional experience to learning and stays aware of industry trends.
• Complies with standards, regulations, and university policies.
• Fulfills administrative, instructional, and clinical responsibilities to graduate competent PTA students.
• Fulfills other responsibilities as determined by the Program Director.
