Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN role. The PTA will support the Physical Therapist by delivering therapies designed to improve function and independence, under supervision, while ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities include implementing interventions, educating patients, documenting progress, and collaborating with the care team to support discharge planning and ongoing therapy needs.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a physical therapy setting.
• Must hold PTA license in the state of employment.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating treatment plan effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Implement interventions addressing posture, balance, locomotion, strength, and pain management.
• Administer treatments under supervision and ensure alignment with best practices.
• Educate patients on exercises and self-management strategies.
• Document care clearly and accurately, including plans and progress notes.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and participate in discharge planning.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment.
