Job summary

Soaky Mountain Waterpark is seeking a guest services associate to support resort guests by locating missing items, coordinating shipments, and answering guest questions. You will handle lost and found inquiries, contact departments to locate items, and ensure proper logging of medications and sensitive items.

Responsibilities include processing mail and packages, maintaining an organized Lost & Found, assisting security and shuttle teams, and supporting accounting with deposits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read safety rules and operating instructions; write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and answer phones frequently; check for messages regarding lost and found.
  • Locate items by contacting departments and calling/emailing guests back when found.
  • Keep the lost and found room organized.
  • Log and handle medications turned in to Lost & Found and coordinate with Risk.
  • Dispose of IDs, debit/credit cards properly and log them.
  • Monitor valued items ($50) in the Lost & Found system.
  • Inspects vacant rooms to locate lost guest items as requested.
  • Assist security with calls and dispatch as needed; support shuttle drivers.
  • Transport accounting to bank for deposits and other needs; shipping of packages.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Ensures resort guests are receiving the highest quality service levels as possible and helping locating their missing items. Assist departments with items needing to be shipped or mail via USPS, UPS, or Fedex. Answer phone calls from guests regarding lost and found items and shipping request plus resort questions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Monitor and answer phones frequently check for messages regarding lost and found.
  • Ensure that we do our best to locate any item(s) a guest might have forgotten by contacting the appropriate department(s) and calling/emailing the guest back if the item is found.
  • Ensuring lost and found room is kept organized.
  • Ensure any medication turned into Lost & Found (prescription or over the counter) is logged and turned in to Risk.
  • Ensure all forms of identification, debit cards, and credit cards are disposed of properly and logged.
  • Monitor items that we have in our possession that have a value of $50.00 and log into the Lost and Found system.
  • As requested, inspects vacant rooms to locate lost guest items.
  • Assists security department with any tasks assigned such as: assists on security calls or handling security calls if the calls numbers are higher than expected or overwhelming.
  • Assists security dispatch with any breaks or questions as needed.
  • Assists shuttle drivers with meal breaks as needed.
  • Transport accounting to the bank for bi-weekly deposits or change requests, as well as any other transportation needs.
  • Shipping of packages for all departments as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 3

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 3

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 3

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Level 3

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Tennessee Driver’s License with F endorsement or ability to obtain one with 30 days of employment (required)
  • Ability to be covered by and maintain company insurance
  • Unarmed Security license (preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires good negotiation and listening skills

  • Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax and calculator
