Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center in Windsor, Connecticut is seeking a PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team and support hospital operations with dedicated patient care and exceptional service.

You will triage and stabilize patients, place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics, assist with surgeries, manage nursing care, and maintain records while delivering clear updates to clients in a fast-paced ER environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year veterinary technician experience (ER preferred)
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills
• Ability to handle fast-paced, emotionally charged situations
• Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures
• Assist during surgery and operations
• Provide nursing care and care for feeding/handling patients
• Maintain medical supplies and equipment
• Oversee triage and discharge patients
• Maintain patient medical records
