Job summary

DATTCO is a third-generation, family-owned transportation company based in Rhode Island. We are hiring experienced van drivers for our Cranston, RI location. Position offers split shifts with part-time guaranteed 20 hours per week.

Hourly rate is $21-23.25 for fully licensed drivers, with opportunities to work additional hours as arranged with the manager. Responsibilities include safely transporting students, performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and maintaining compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least three consecutive years of driving experience with a valid driver's license.
• Must pass Rhode Island DMV and school district training and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school on assigned routes.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all traffic laws, designated routes, railroad crossing procedures, student pick-up/drop-off procedures, and school district safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for students while operating the bus.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, school staff, transportation supervisors, and safety personnel.
