Job summary

DATTCO in Plainville, CT is seeking experienced van drivers for part-time shifts, 20–30 hours per week. The role pays $19.50–$21 per hour, with pay based on experience and licensing. You’ll transport students on assigned routes and perform required inspections.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least three consecutive years of driving experience with a valid license.
• Must hold, or be able to obtain, before transporting students, V Endorsement for Student Transportation Vehicle operation.
• Must meet Connecticut DMV and school district eligibility standards.
• Must complete pre-employment screening including driving record review, background checks, and drug screening.
• Must complete annual safety and regulatory trainings.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students on assigned routes.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow traffic laws, routes, and school safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and supervisors.
• Complete required safety trainings and compliance requirements.
