Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist for PRN daytime coverage in Covington, GA. You will help patients improve movement and function and perform periodic reexaminations, discharge planning, and care coordination in home settings.

Qualified candidates hold an active PT license, CAPTE-accredited degree, and CPR certification. Experience in home health preferred; mentoring options available for less experienced applicants.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in the state you are assigned to work in.
• CAPTE-accredited degree in physical therapy.
• One year of related PT experience for home health care to ensure knowledge and skills for safe PT services.
• If less than one year, regional clinical leaders approval required with mentoring/residency.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Help patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function.
• Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations every 30 days minimum, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you're assigned to work in.
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program.
• Current CPR certification.
